Teen Book Club
Saturday, July 25th, 4-5pm
Whether you’re Team Conrad, or Team Jeremiah, there’s room for all at Teen Book Club! Read The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han on your own, then meet with the group. At the meeting we’ll discuss the book, play book trivia for prizes, and have some sweet and savory snacks. Books are available to book club members for checkout at the Youth Services Desk.

Summer Reading Party
July 31st, 5-7pm
If you’re a 7th-12th grader and you participated in our summer reading challenge, then we invite you to come celebrate with us! We’ll have snacks, games, and an after-hours scavenger hunt. Plus, the library’s Young Adult Advisory Board will debut their summer film!

Teen Creativity Contest
Young Adult Advisory Board
Get involved in your library!
7th-12 graders, you’re invited to join the library’s Young Adult Advisory Board! This group meets with library staff throughout the year to share ideas for books, displays, and programs. YA Board members can also volunteer at library programs for all ages such as children’s storytimes, Summer Celebration, book sales, and the Teen Creativity Contest.
The YA Board will accept new member applications until May 31st. Only open to young adults who will be in grades 7-12 in the coming 2026-27 school year.

- Teen Creativity Contest 2023Hutchinson Public Library’s Young Adult Advisory Board announces the winners of its 27th annual Teen Creativity Contest. In the months of October and November, area youth were invited to submit their original work in the categories of art, photography, poetry, and short story writing.
