Saturday, October 17th, 3:30-5pm
Get into the Halloween spirit with crafts, snacks, and a Halloween movie! We’ll be creating ghostly glow in the dark pieces of art that you can take home, and watching the movie “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Registration is required.

Young Adult Advisory Board
Get involved in your library!
We love when teens get involved in the library! If you’re a 7th-12th grader and you’re interested in helping shape library services, assisting with programing, and earning volunteer credit, then the YA Board might be for you.
Throughout the year, the YA Board meets to decide what teen programs the library will offer each season, talk about ideas for decorating, and share book suggestions. There are also lots of opportunities for board members to volunteer throughout the year, such as setting up/cleaning up programs, performing puppet plays in the summer, judging the Teen Creativity Contest, shelving books, and more.
The YA Board takes new member applications in April-May. To apply, you must be going into grades 7-12 in the coming school year. You can pick up an application at the library or download it here starting March 29th. After applying, you will be contacted by email to set up a short interview.

- Teen Creativity Contest 2023Hutchinson Public Library’s Young Adult Advisory Board announces the winners of its 27th annual Teen Creativity Contest. In the months of October and November, area youth were invited to submit their original work in the categories of art, photography, poetry, and short story writing.
