String Art

Thursday, July 10th, 2-3pm

7th-12th graders, get artsy with us at the library! Create your own awesome string art masterpiece using cork board, pins, and lots of colorful string. No experience needed – just bring your creativity! Registration is required to participate.

If you participated in the teen Summer Reading Challenge, then bring a friend and come celebrate with us! We’ll have games, snacks, and prizes to give away. Plus, we’ll debut the summer movie created by the library’s Young Adult Advisory Board!

Get involved in your library!

The Young Adult Advisory Board is now taking applications!

Join the Hutchinson Public Library’s YA Board and get involved in your community! If you will be a 7th-12th grader in the coming 2025-26 school year, you can start participating in YA Board events starting this summer. The YA Board meets throughout the year to share ideas and interests, and plan library teen programs. The YA Board also gets to volunteer at library programs and events all year long! Volunteer opportunities include Summer Celebration, the Scholastic Bookfair, Kids STEM, and storytime puppet plays. Applications are only open through May 31st, so don’t wait!

Applications are available at the library and online. To submit your application, please either drop it off at the Youth Services Desk or email it to shelby.r@hutchpl.org.

    Hutchinson Public Library’s Young Adult Advisory Board announces the winners of its 27th annual Teen Creativity Contest. In the months of October and November, area youth were invited to submit their original work in the categories of art, photography, poetry, and short story writing.
