Books In A Bag

Let us help you pick your next snow day read! Sign up for a free surprise bag just for 7th-12th graders, and you will receive two library books picked for you based on your reading preferences, plus snacks and other wintry surprises to enjoy!

Register by December 10th, and your bag will be ready for pick-up December 13th-20th.


Tabletop Adventurers Society

7th-12th graders, ready for an adventure? Join our TTRPG group for teens! All skill levels are welcome, just bring your imagination and we’ll provide the rest. Registration is required.


Murder Mystery Party

Saturday, December 20th, 3-5pm

Don your ugliest holiday sweater and join us for the party! Be beware, not every guest is who they seem…

Join us for a fun afternoon of mystery, snacks, and holiday fun! Each player will be assigned a character role, and prompt cards will guide you through the game until the murderer is revealed.


Teen Book Club

Love to read? Join our Teen Book Club to read and talk books with a community of young adult readers! Each month you will have a new book to read, and meetings will be held on 4th Saturdays from 4-5:30pm. Books are available for checkout at the Youth Services Desk.

The Young Adult Advisory Board is a group of area 7th-12th graders who serve the community and library by volunteering at programs and helping curate teen programs and services.

The YA Board will accept new member applications May 1st – June 30th

    Hutchinson Public Library’s Young Adult Advisory Board announces the winners of its 27th annual Teen Creativity Contest. In the months of October and November, area youth were invited to submit their original work in the categories of art, photography, poetry, and short story writing.
