Quiet Room

Quiet Room

The Quiet Reading Room is located in the east end of the library, on the first floor by the Adult Fiction and Teen Zone.  It is a designated quiet zone in the library, with a home-like atmosphere outfitted with comfy chairs, lamps, and desks with outlets.  It is a perfect spot for when you need to work or read with minimal distractions.

The wood wainscoting on the lower walls is wood from the Carey House which was next door to the library before the library expanded.  Some historic photographs hang on the walls.

To use the quiet room requires patrons to be respectful of the space by refraining from talking and eating.  Please mute cell phones, and to turn down the volume electronic devices to a level where there is no audible noise.  Drinks with lids are allowed.

Enjoy the quiet.
