Pocket Paintings

Why does the library host art programs for adults?
The simple answer is to promote life-long learning and literacy. Libraries act as “classrooms for life” for all ages, allowing adults to learn what they want to learn in a low-pressure setting.
Engaging with the arts promotes cognitive health and stimulates the brain. Creative activities help adults stay mentally sharp, boost memory, and improve focus. While those are great individual benefits, library art programs also create a shared space for learning, chatting, and growing together.
Pocket paintings is a great art program for those with beginner and advanced skills. You’ll paint on a miniature canvas with guiding prompts. You can follow along, or make your own creative decisions along the way. At the end you’ll have a miniature masterpiece created by you that’s perfect for displaying on a desk, bookshelf, or side table. We’ll chat while we paint and listen to relaxing music. It’s a great environment to relax and let loose of life’s big stressors for a couple of hours. You’ll leave feeling relaxed, accomplished, and full of inspiration for your next project.
