“Jaws” is a 1975 American thriller directed by Steven Spielberg, based on the novel by Peter Benchley, that follows the story of a small coastal town terrorized by a great white shark. The movie centers on Police Chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider), who initially tries to close the beaches, but is overruled by the town’s mayor (Murray Hamilton). When shark attacks continue, Brody enlists the help of marine biologist Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) and shark hunter Quint (Robert Shaw) to hunt down the deadly predator.
