DESCRIPTION:Visit the Makerspace for a demonstration of our machine-embroidery equipment! This is a two-part workshop where the scheduled event is a presentation-only walkthrough of an embroidery job\, then you can return at your convenience for hands-on experience.  \nWe will be showing an overview of how to digitize a design on the computer\, hoop your fabric and thread the embroidery machine\, customize the embroidery job on the machine\, and stitch-out your custom design. \n\nThere is no cost to attend. No previous experience is required.\nBasic computer and reading skills are required.\nSeats are limited\, but this workshop will be offered regularly. SUMMARY:Reader Beware: 1990s Themed Halloween Open Mic Night
DESCRIPTION:You’re in for a scare… \nStep back in time and join us for a 1990s Halloween themed open mic night celebrating stories of things that go bump in the night. Adults are invited to share their original scary stories and poetry or dramatic readings of favorite classic horror snippets or poetry.  \nThe library sun room will transform into a retro-spooky party that will take you back to your days of school Halloween parties and your favorite Goosebumps book keeping you awake at night. Wear a costume if you dare! \nSubmission Guidelines \nOpen to all local writers (and readers) aged 18 and up.   \n1990s theme –  original short stories\, poetry\, or flash fiction inspired by classic 90s campy horror\, urban legends\, or supernatural mysteries.  \nMaximum 5 minutes per reader.  Keep submissions under 750 words to ensure you stay within your performance window.  \nKeep it PG-13.
