SUMMARY:Machine Embroidery Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Visit the Makerspace for a demonstration of our machine-embroidery equipment! This is a two-part workshop where the scheduled event is a presentation-only walkthrough of an embroidery job\, then you can return at your convenience for hands-on experience.  \nWe will be showing an overview of how to digitize a design on the computer\, hoop your fabric and thread the embroidery machine\, customize the embroidery job on the machine\, and stitch-out your custom design. \n\nThere is no cost to attend. No previous experience is required.\nBasic computer and reading skills are required.\nSeats are limited\, but this workshop will be offered regularly. If you can’t attend a scheduled workshop\, please contact us to discuss alternatives.\nThe Makerspace will be closed to other activities during this workshop.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIMPORTANT – PLEASE READ:\n\nYou will need to return later to complete the hands-on portion of the training.\nYoung children must be able to understand written and verbal instructions unaided\, as well as use a desktop computer.\nEach individual attending will need a current Hutchinson Public Library Card. Student library cards are not valid for Makerspace workshops.

Can things from the past influence the present and change how we live today?  \nThese are all questions our friends with the Reno County Historical Society will answer as they tell you a story about local history from ancient artifacts to geological data that can save lives during critical emergencies.  \nDiscover the behind-the-scenes work of local historians and archivists as they uncover history from local families to abandoned mining worksites underground. Ask questions about history that’s important to you and why historians and librarians want to protect it for you.
