To celebrate\, we’re running a year-long reading program\, starting January 12th! Every time we reach 1\,901 books\, we’ll have a prize drawing. In a parallel universe\, a utopian society watches our world\, trying to learn from our mistakes. A black mother in the Jim Crow South must save her daughter from a fey offering impossible promises. And in the Hugo award-nominated short story “The City Born Great\,” a young street kid fights to give birth to an old metropolis’s soul. \nN. K. Jemisin’s short stories will get you thinking about different perspectives and what-ifs. This is sure to be a lively discussion!  \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:This workshop covers basic instruction for our craft-cutter\, the Cricut Maker 3. You will design and create a vinyl decal\, and learn how to make stickers\, fabric-transfers\, and more.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYou will need an email address to register for your Cricut ID.\nThere is no cost to attend.\nBasic computer and reading skills are required.\nNo previous experience is required.\nSeats are limited\, but this workshop will be offered regularly. If you can’t attend a scheduled workshop\, please contact us to discuss alternatives.\nThe Makerspace will be closed to other activities during this workshop.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIMPORTANT – PLEASE READ:\n\nYoung children must be able to understand written and verbal instructions unaided\, as well as use a desktop computer.\nEach individual attending will need a current Hutchinson Public Library Card. Student library cards are not valid for Makerspace workshops.
