Book discussion groups

Book discussion groups are a great way to connect with others, talk about or learn more about what you are reading, or to try reading something different.

Mystery Mavens

The Mystery Mavens get together once a month to discuss a book. This group meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 7pm in Conference Room #2 on the second floor of the library. Contact Steve Westfahl for more information.

May's Book: "Though Not Dead" by Dana Stabenow.

Science Fiction Book Discussion Group

The Sci-Fi Book Discussion Group meets on the First Thursday of each month to discuss a work of science fiction or fantasy. We have informal discussions in a friendly atmosphere. The group selects the list of titles and where to meet. We read everything from hard science fiction to fantasy, traditional formats to graphic novels, and occasionally even watch a film adaptation for comparison.

The group meets on the first Thursday of the month at 7pm, and the group chooses where to meet at variety of locations around town.  Direct questions to Gregg Wamsley or Steve Westfahl.

June's meeting place and book:
The group will meet at Ken's Piazza, 901 E. 30th, in Hutchinson.  The book this month is "Wild Seed" by Octavia Butler.  The group will meet at 6pm for food and drinks followed by the book discussion at 7pm.
