Andrea Springer, The Knitting Savant (, will teach these classes. Andrea is an experienced knitter and has taught hundreds of people the art of hand work. The class will focus on ways to use technology in knitting, crocheting and other handwork. She will discuss various social networks and popular online resources for fiber artists during the class. You’ll leave with information on the latest trends, ideas on how to keep track of needles, hooks and yarn, and how to find help late at night. She will demonstrate social networks such as Ravelry, Nimblestix and others. You’ll see how to get the most out of these sites to enjoy your own fiber art work even more.

April 9, 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

April 10, 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Pinterest allows you to gather photos from the web that link back to ideas you want to remember. For example, if you find a centerpiece you want to use at a family reunion, you can “pin” it to your board on Pinterest and go back to it easily at any time. It’s also a way to connect with other people who share your interests. People use Pinterest to plan trips, projects, events such as weddings and reunions, and recipes. It’s free and we’ll spend some time learning how to navigate the site.

April 2, 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

April 9, 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Blogger is a free tool that allows you to post material on the internet. It’s a way to have a blog where you write, or share photos and information with people. During this class you’ll create a blog and experiment with adding photos and text to it.
