Hutchinson Public Library invites you to celebrate National Library Week with us, April 7 through the 13th by supporting libraries and library workers. The theme this year is "Libraries equal Strong Communities, and strengthening our community is part of Hutchinson Public Library’s mission.  From free access to books and online resources to business centers that help support entrepreneurship and retraining, libraries offer opportunity to all. 

Library staff are here to inspire learning, cultivate growth, share knowledge and strengthen our community.

April 8 - 13
Family Scavenger Hunt
This  fun hunt will take you to all corners of the library! It starts and ends at either the Public Service Desk or the Children's Service Desk to earn prize.

Interactive Database Display
Come see our interactive display about our free databases, Freegal Music, Flipster Magazines, Cloud Library e-books and audiobooks, and Transparent Language.

Kindle and Paperwhite Service Display
Did you know we have Kindles and Paperwhites available for check out?  Visit our display in the Public Service area highlighting this service!

April 8 - 12, 3:00 pm
Kansas Room Renovation Recap Tour
The Kansas Room is now open, and we continue our renovations.  Come see the progress, and enjoy displays and treats daily.

Monday - Library Advocacy Day! The 2019 State of America's Libraries Report is released including Top Ten Frequently Challenged Books of 2018.
Comfort and Joy food truck will north of the library.

Tuesday - Library Worker’s Day! 
National Library Worker's Day logo
We are showing library staff and volunteers how much we appreciate them. To show appreciation for library workers and the work they do throughout the year, library users are invited to “Submit a Star” by providing a testimonial about a favorite library employee. Examples of nominations can include how library staff helped with learning 3D printing or writing a resume. Each testimonial will be posted in the “Galaxy of Stars” on the NLWD website to honor deserving library workers. To follow or post on Twitter, use the hashtag #librarystars.

Wednesday - Bookmobile Day!

Come see our bookmobile display and learn more about our Outreach Programs. Traveling Bowl food truck will be north of the library

Wednesday is also Library Giving Day, a one-day fundraising event with the goal of encouraging people who depend on and enjoy public libraries to donate to their individual library system.  You can learn about a variety ways to donate to Hutchinson Public Library by visiting these links:
