My Account

Hutchinson Public Library card holders have an account maintained in the library's circulation system. This account tracks items checked out, holds (or requests) for items, contact information, a listing of any fines owed, and optionally a history of items checked out.

HPL patrons may access their account from anywhere using their library card number (14 digits) and their PIN. With this access, patrons may also place holds (or requests) themselves.

Do no allow other people access to your account! You are responsible for items checked out on your card, so treat your library card as you would a credit card. Immediately notify the library at (620)663-5441 if your card has been lost or stolen. Library staff can immediately freeze your account until you can come in to get a new card.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is my username and password?

Enter your entire 14-digit library card number without spaces. Your password is the last four digits of your telephone number (the number we have on file at the library).

What functions can I perform in my account?

You can place holds (requests) for books that are not checked in. You can see what items you have out, renew items you have out, and see if you have any fines. You can review your contact info and request changes. You can switch on 'reading history" if you want the system to keep track of what you've read. You can also change your password. If you do change your password, be aware that we cannot retrieve that information so if you forget, you will have to contact us to reset it.

Can I pay my fines through My Account?

Not at this time. You can call the library and make payment over the telephone (620)663-5441 ext. 116.
